Known side effects

The following issues are known to affect this release.

No choice for Plaform Type in VSP generator: In the Environment Generation wizard, VSP Generator section, in the “Platform Type” field, you might see “Any available” as the only value. This is caused by a badly formed WebSphere Application Server pattern in IBM Workload Deployer.

Workaround: No workaround needed. The The VSP Generator defaults to the first available platform. If additional modifications are needed, the pattern can be edited manually in the Workload Deployer interface.

VSP generator fails to create ODR node: When you use the Environment Generation wizard to capture configuration information about an existing WebSphere Application Server version 8.5 cell that includes an On Demand Router (ODR) cluster, the VSP generator fails to include the ODR cluster in the pattern.

Workaround: Manually include the ODR node by dragging it onto the pattern in the IBM Workload Deployer interface.

Missing values in file: When you upgrade from an earlier installation of Rational Automation Framework version 3, the file is missing key values needed to support the integration with Rational Team Concert.

Workaround: Edit the file, located in the RAFW_HOME directory, and replace the following line:

with this expanded line:

New cell wizard generates wrong SERVER_TYPE in one case: When you use the Environment Generation wizard to generate a new network deployment cell for Websphere Application Server version 8.5 and you include a Websphere Application Server cluster and an On-Demand Router cluster, the wizard sets SERVER_TYPE=SERVER for both clusters.  The correct settings are APPLICATION_SERVER and ONDEMAND_ROUTER, respectively.

Workaround: Edit the properties file for the cell and replace SERVER with the correct values.

was_common_configure_all fails with On Demand Router server: When the action runs, the following exception is returned:

[exec] WASX7017E: Exception received while running file
exception information:
ADMG0007E: The configuration data type CustomProperty is not valid.

The problem is caused by a problem with Websphere Application Server.

Workaround: Manually configure On Demand Router servers using Websphere Application Server tools.

Broken documentation link in Eclipse client: The "Supported configurations for stand-alone cells" topic is not available in the Eclipse information center.

Workaround: You can find the topic in the on-line information center: Supported configurations for stand-alone cells
