An IBM Personal Communications version 5.5 patch has been made generally available and contains a fix for APAR IC36105.
Run the fix (pcs55uninst_fix.exe) on a machine with 5.5 installed, then do the migration to a later level of PCOM as follows:
- Download the attached archive (IC36105.zip)
- Extract to your local drive
- Open the command prompt (Click Start > Run type cmd)
- Navigate (cd) to the location when you extracted the fix (from step #2)
- Run the executable
Note: This is the expected output, with the ProductCode and cached database file name matching whatever is correct for your system.
This application will modify the PCOM 5.5 install logic to not remove all the files found in the TEMP folder.
