Installing this Fix Pack on WebSphere eXtended Transaction Runtime V1.0 updates the product version to 1.0.0.1.

IBM WebSphere eXtended Transaction Runtime V1.0 for AIX is a prerequisite for this Fix Pack.

Important notes on IBM WebSphere eXtended Transaction Runtime V1.0 for AIX

For new WXTR users:

• WXTR V1.0 can be accessed through either of the following methods:
  • Download the installable image of WXTR V1.0 from the Passport Advantage available in WXTR Support download page.
    OR
  • Order and obtain the IBM WXTR V1.0 software CD-ROM.
• Install IBM WXTR V1.0.
• Install the Fix Pack using installation instructions provided in this document.

For existing WXTR users:

• Install the WXTR Fix Pack using the installation instructions provided in this document.

The following known issues have been resolved in this Fix Pack:

• CICS COBOL programs are not purged during a client timeout or client termination.
  Note: The response timeout parameter is used to set timeout value for CICS applications and can be set using the WebSphere Application Server (WAS) administration console. Any value change made to the response timeout parameter in the WAS-WXTR configuration panel will take effect once WAS is restarted.
  
  You can access the response timeout parameter using either of the following methods:
  
  • Through the administration console, by completing the following steps:
    In the Navigation panel, select Servers -> Server Types -> WebSphere Application Servers and then choose the server name for which you want to view the WXTR container settings.
  • The wsadmin.sh utility
• Restarting the WXTR container might disable a COBOL application program.
• Restarting the the DB2 server repeatedly may suspend running WXTR applications.
• Abends such as A16Y, and A146 fail to propagate abend codes back to the WXTR client program.

After downloading the Fix Pack image file from Fix Central, complete the following steps:

1. Uncompress the Fix Pack image file using the uncompress utility to get a file with .tar extension.
2. Extract the .tar file using tar utility to get the Fix Pack installable image and Readme files.

Follow the instructions in the README_FP1_ en_US.htm file to install the product.

To download the Fix Pack, do the following:

1) Select and click the required Fix Pack from the list.
2) The Select fixes panel is displayed. Choose the required Fix Pack and click Continue.
3) The Download options panel is displayed. Select your preferred download option and click the Continue button.
4) Once the download is complete, follow the steps in the Installation Instructions section to install the Fix Pack.
