1.0 Update Installation Instructions

These installation instruction apply to the Tivoli Provisioning Manager.

1.1 Pre-Installation Steps
--------------------------
1. Verify that Tivoli Provisioning Manager 7.1.1 server is operational.
On the web interface, ensure that you can run the workflow named "no_operation".

If the workflow was successful, the deployment engine is working correctly and
you can continue with the next step in the preinstallation tasks.

If the workflow was not successful, check the workflow log and see the Tivoli
Provisioning Manager Troubleshooting Guide to resolve the error before you proceed
with the next step in the preinstallation tasks

2. For users applying IFIX to a TPM server which has been migrated from 5.1.1.x level to 7.1.1.
Please follow the steps mentioned in the "Updating the provisioning server host name on the administrative
workstation" topic in the Migration Guide.

3. For users applying IFIX to TCAs where CIT config.xml should not be overwritten.
a) Download the following workflow file 'CopyCitConfigFile.wkf' from the workflow folder located in "\7.1.1.0-TIV-TPM-Multi-IF00004\citReconfigWkf"
b) Import the workflow to TPM using workflow UI
c) Define a provisioning task by specifying this workflow and DeviceID as parameter
d) Run the task against all TCAs to address
e) Wait for task completion before executing next preinstallation steps.

4. For TSAM 7.2 users applying this IFIX to their embedded TPM server, modification of the IFIX is needed
before applying it. Open the IFIX and remove the vmware_virtual_infrastructure.tcdriver file. This file is
located in the /drivers directory in the IFIX packaging.

Location of /driver directory :
a) Extract the IFIX installer jar file, there are couple folders. Out of those folders "tpm_core\installer" folder contains "7.1.1.0-TIV-TPM-Multi-IF00004.jar"
b) Open this jar and navigate to "efixes\7.1.1.0-TIV-TPM-Multi-IF00004\components\tpm"
c) This folder has "Update.jar" file, which contains "/drivers" folder.

5. Open a command window. Log on to the provisioning server as "tioadmin". Go to the tools directory.
Run the following comand

For AIX, Linux or Solaris:
. $TIO_HOME/tools/cancel-all-in-progress.sh
. $TIO_HOME/tools/clean-up-deployment-requests.sh

For Windows:
%TIO_HOME%\tools\cancel-all-in-progress.cmd
%TIO_HOME%\tools\clean-up-deployment-requests.cmd

6. Before applying the update, Ensure that the Tivoli Provisioning Manager, WebSphere Application Server(WAS),
are stopped. Refer to the documentation provided with each of these products for detailed starting and stopping instructions.

7. Check <WAS_HOME>\properties\DMSSLConfig.properties to make sure only one correct entry for TPM_FIPS_ENABLED.
If there are multiple entries, please remove the incorrect entries.

8. Check for file "build-version.beforeIFIX" before starting iFix for the 1st time. If the file exist, delete the file before installing the IFIX.

-----------------------------------
Pre-requisite:
- All requirements under http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v28r1/topic/com.ibm.tivoli.tpm.wkf.doc/workflows/cwkf_apdeinstreq.html must be fulfilled (e.g. 32-bit OS, Eclipse 3.2.2 or later, etc.)
- If APDE is installed in any of the following configurations, user must upgrade APDE:
a) installed on a remote machine
b) installed on a Eclipse platform other than the TIO_HOME/eclipse directory
c) User has customized the "Location" (to something other than TIO_HOME/eclipse directory) for TPM plug-ins in the APDE "Plug-in Development, Target platform" preferences.

Steps for upgrading APDE:
1) Complete the iFix installation process on TPM
2) Download apde.zip from TIO_HOME\apde and extract into your APDE directory. (Customized location on TPM server or on Remote machine)
3) Copy TIO_HOME\lwi\runtime\tpm\eclipse\plugins\tpm_pmp\properties to APDE_HOME\eclipse\plugins\tpm_pmp\properties.
(Customized location on TPM server or on Remote machine)

3.0 Troubleshooting

3.1 TPMfOSD 7.1.1.1 - WinPE Network Boot CD Binaries
---------------------------------------------------

Symptoms

When a network boot cd obtained from TPMfOSD is mapped to an endpoint, the following error is given on the endpoint after rebooting:
Found value 0 in CMOS
Default environment found on media: WPE
<ERR> Error raied by GetSharedSize in utils.rbc, line 3182 {DL5:749]
<ERR> Error in shared repository
<WRN> (called from NTBootWPE (utils.rbc:10022))
<WRN> (called from SelectEnvFromBootMedia (startup.rbc:1169))
<WRN> (called from --toplevel-- (startup.rbc:1375))

Causes
WinPE network boot cd binaries gets corrupted when trying to download through the link given rather than using Web interface extension.

Resolving the problem

Use the Web interface extension option given rather than the link provided to download the binaries on local computer.

3.2 SPB installed with SDI shows old download plans in the WEBUI
--------------------------------------------------------------

Symptoms

When explicitly publishing a SPB before installing the SPB then it will be left on the depot or the endpoint cache. A new download
plan gets created (for the first-time installation). When uninstalling the software, and then reinstall it again (or just reinstalling
it with force option), there is no new download plan being created. Instead the UI shows the old download plan data in the task view.

Causes
If an SPB has been published by the user to a depot and then installed on target computer, then when the SPB is installed again, it is not
downloaded again. This is because the target computer is a peer and the SPB is already cached. Therefore for the second install there is
no download plan generated. So the GUI will show the original download plan, since in reality it is the download plan that was used for the
actual distribution.Note that, if the user did not publish the SPB, then the SPB will be deleted each time and a new download plan is generated each time.

3.3 TPM 7.1.1 - Local device execute command fails - su - tioadmin claims incorrect password.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Symptoms

A workflow that executes the "su - tioadmin" command fails with the following error:
COPCOM123E A shell command error occurred: Exit code=1, Error stream="Command: `su - tioadmin` failed.", Output stream="su: incorrect password .."

Causes
The problem is caused by the configuration of the switch user command module. To have access to this module, the user must be added to the "wheel" group.
For security reasons within the company, the user's access to this module is restrictecd.

Resolving the problem
If the error occurs while a workflow is running, perform the follow steps to diagnose and fix:

1. Log in as root to the provisioning server.
2. Run the "su - user1" command. The command must complete successfully.
3. Run the "su - user2" command. If this command fails with the "su: incorrect password" error, even though the correct password was entered, follow these steps to fix the problem.
a. Log in as root to the provisioning server.
b. Go to /etc/pam.d.
c. Open the "su" control module.
d. Comment out the following line:
# Uncomment the following line to add a user to the "wheel" group.
# auth required pam_wheel.so use_uid

4.0 Known Issues

4.1 TPM web component install hangs at wasadmin credential check
----------------------------------------------------------------

After installation, if you changed WebSphere server certificate, please run the following command to accept the certificate for maximo admin station BEFORE web component upgrade.

From maximo admin station, run the following command:

<BSI_INSTALL_LOC>/wasclient/ThinWsadmin.bat(sh) -user wasadmin -password <wasadmin password>

The prompt will ask you to accept the certificate, and accept it and enter 'exit' to exit from wsadmin console.

4.2 TCA installables renamed during migration from TPM 7.1.1 to TPM 7.1.1 IF00001
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the migration from TPM 7.1.1 to TPM 7.1.1 IF00001 the TivoliCommonAgent_MigrateDCM_7_1_1_0_IF00001 workflow will be runned and it
will always rename the installables TCA-Feature Tivoli Provisioning Manager Base for each operating system.

The migration workflow (TivoliCommonAgent_MigrateDCM_7_1_1_0_IF00001) is run when the IF00001 is installed. This is regardless of whether any TCA's are installed.
The purpose of the workflow is to create a software definition for previous version agents. If there is a previous version of TCA's installed
then they would be discovered correctly. The entry for software definition "TCA-Feature Tivoli Provisioning Manager Base 7.1.1000 pre IF00001" is created,
even if a previous version of TCA is not installed.

4.3 Mismatching data type for the long audit column
---------------------------------------------------

For DB2® only, run the following command to fix long audit columns after you turn on auditing for TPM tables and configure the database in Maximo:

If Tivoli Provisioning Manager is on Windows, run %TIO_HOME%\migration\scripts\FixLongAuditColumn.cmd
If Tivoli Provisioning Manager is on a UNIX or Linux system, run $TIO_HOME/migration/scripts/FixLongAuditColumn.sh

After you run this command, you can check $TIO_LOGS/migration/fixLongAuditColumn.log for debugging in case there is any errors.

Note: this command has to be run whenever you turn on auditing on TPM tables and after configdb is run

4.4 Software upgrade of targets on Software Product Upgrade Page
---------------------------------------------------------------
If multiple targets for multiple listed softwares are submitted for upgrade through software upgrade page,
only those targets are upgraded for which their corresponding listed software has been highlighted.

4.5 Verfiying that TCAupgrade_CreateSPBs runs successfully after TPM 7.1.1.0 IF00004 install
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After installtion of TPM 7.1.1.0 IF00004, verify that TCAupgrade_CreateSPBs runs successfully. If it fails run the workflow manually.
It is very importatant the workflow succeeds or else the agents won't be upgraded.
