Installation Instructions

Depending on which version 2.2. packaging option you installed, use one of the following sets of instructions to install version 2.2.0.2. For more information about the packaging options, see the product Web page.



1) To install the Data Studio 2.2.0.2 stand-alone package, download the package from this location:

There is no update mechanism for the 2.2.0.2 stand-alone package, and version 2.2 is not required as a prerequisite for version 2.2.0.2. Use the install wizard to install version 2.2.0.2.

If you do have version 2.2 installed, you can install version 2.2.0.2 either into the same directory or a different directory as version 2.2. However, if you choose to install version 2.2.0.2 into the same directory as version 2.2, when you uninstall the product both versions are uninstalled.

1. Extract the product package to any directory on your computer, for example: c:\temp\datastudio.


2. From the directory in the previous step, run the executable file:
   
   
   
   • On Windows systems: Run install.exe
   
   
   • On Linux systems: Run ./install.bin
   
   
   
   


3. Follow the wizard steps to install the product.

• If Data Studio version 2.2 is already installed on your system, then you can install this update by using the Update Packages wizard in IBM Installation Manager.
  


• If you are installing Data Studio version 2.2 for the first time or if you are installing an additional instance of it, then you can install this update at the same time that you install Data Studio version 2.2 by clicking Check for updates on the Install page of the Install Packages wizard in IBM Installation Manager.

You can download compressed files containing the Data Studio version 2.2.0.2 fix pack; the files that you extract from the compressed files form a repository for the fix pack. You can install the fix pack from the repository on your own computer, or you can use IBM Packaging Utility to create the repository that can be hosted on a shared drive or an HTTP or HTTPs server.

1. Download the fix pack files listed in the download table below.


2. Extract the compressed files in an appropriate directory. For example, choose to extract to C:\temp\update
.

3. Add the fix pack's repository location in IBM Installation Manager:
   
   
   
   1. Start IBM Installation Manager.
   
   
   2. On the Start page of Installation Manager, click File > Preferences, and then click Repositories. The Repositories page opens.
   
   
   3. On the Repositories page, click Add Repository.
   
   
   4. In the Add repository window, browse to or enter the file path to the repository.config file, which is located in the directory where you extracted the compressed files. For example, browse to C:\temp\update\repository.config and then click OK.
   
   
   5. Click OK to close the Preference page.
   
   
   
   
4. Install the fix pack by using the Update Packages wizard as described in the Installation Guide.
