Abstract

This page contains the Runtime Environment package for use with applications developed using the IBM XL C/C++ for AIX, V10.1 compiler or its predecessors.

Download Description

If you wish to run an application developed using the IBM XL C/C++ for AIX, V10.1 compiler, but do not have the corresponding version of compiler or runtime already installed, then you need to install the Runtime Environment package.

The following APARs were fixed in this PTF *:

IZ57589 - omp.h header file issue with stdc89
IZ65186 - November 2009 XL SMP Runtime
IZ54091 - July 2009 IBM XL C++ Runtime for AIX, V10.1

Note: There have been no changes to the C++ Runtime since July. Only update is for the SMP Runtime.

* Some APARs may have been fixed first in another release of this product. In such cases, fixes have been ported to this release and APAR descriptions have been copied from the original APARs.

Prerequisites

Operating system (one of):
▪ IBM AIX V5.3 TL 5300-06, or higher, with bos.rte.libc 5.3.0.60, or higher
▪ IBM AIX V6.1 with bos.rte.libc 6.0.0.0, or higher
▪ IBM i 6.1 (i5/OS V6R1) PASE

Technical Support

The C++ Runtime Environment for AIX is not supported as a stand-alone software product.

Support for questions and problems relating to installation of the C++ Runtime Environment is available as part of AIX Software Maintenance (SWMA).

If you suspect a problem with the C++ Runtime Environment while using it with a third-party application, contact your application provider for support.

Full support (installation, defect support and general questions) for the C++ Runtime Environment is available with the software maintenance agreement for the XL C++ Compilers. A suitable test case is required for defect support; click here for details.
