Abstract

This document describes how to download and install this fix pack to IBM® Rational® Build Forge Version 7.0.2.

This Fix Pack contains a set of fixes for the Build Forge 7.0.2 product.

For the 7.0.2.6 Fix Pack installation to complete successfully, you must have previously installed IBM Rational Build Forge 7.0.2, or it can be installed on any of these releases:

  • IBM Rational Build Forge iFix1 for 7.0.2
  • IBM Rational Build Forge iFix2 for 7.0.2
  • IBM Rational Build Forge iFix3 for 7.0.2
  • IBM Rational Build Forge iFix4 for 7.0.2
  • IBM Rational Build Forge Fix Pack 5 for 7.0.2 (7.0.2.5)
Changes in Behavior

This Fix Pack includes some additions and changes to system behavior, as detailed here:
  1. Added a system configuration parameter, Agent Connect Timeout. This parameter controls the duration, (in seconds), the engine will continue trying to connect to an agent before giving up. The default is set to 300, (5 minutes).

  2. Added a system configuration, Terminate Threads. This option controls the behavior of Build Forge when a threaded step fails. Setting this parameter to "Yes" will terminate other running threads in the event that any thread fails, (unless the step is set to continue on fail). The default is set to "No" which preserves legacy behavior.

  3. Added a system configuration, Step Retries. This parameter controls the number of times a step will retry if there is a communications failure during the step execution. If there is a communication failure during the step execution, the engine will attempt to re-execute the part of the step it is currently working on. The default is set to 10.

    Step Retries controls engine behavior after execution begins. The existing system configuration, Server Retries, controls the number of times the engine attempts to allocate a step to a server before step execution begins.

  • English: Version 7.0.2 Fixpack 5
  • All other supported languages: Version 7.0.2 iFix 4

Prerequisites

IBM Rational Build Forge version 7.0.2 with any of the subsequent interim fixes (iFixes) must be running on the host to proceed with this installation.

Before installing this Fixpack, stop Build Forge and back up the database.
