Abstract

This document describes how to download and install IBM Rational Performance Tester Version 8.1 using Passport Advantage Online.

Download Description

IBM Rational Performance Tester is a performance testing tool used to identify the presence and cause of system performance bottlenecks.

This release of IBM Rational Performance Tester Version 8.1 includes the following new features:

  • Support for performance requirements, to specify acceptable thresholds of performance and to validate service level agreements.
  • Support for splitting tests, to make test more reusable and maintainable.
  • Test variables can be used to share data among tests.
  • Multiple test elements can be selected and modified.
  • Support for test annotation when recording HTTP using Internet Explorer or Firefox.
  • You can view rendered HTTP pages and event logs for any virtual user while running tests.
  • You can replay a virtual user after running tests.
  • You can now add transactions to schedules as well as tests.
  • Support for custom and conditional report colors.
  • Improved HTTP response time calculation.
  • Support for HTTP data correlation in Javascript Object Notation and Atom formats.
  • Support for PUT, DELETE, and HEAD methods for HTTP tests.
  • Support for binary data correlation and datapools for HTTP tests.

Prerequisites

This release requires IBM Installation Manager, version 1.3.1 or later.

Installation Instructions

Installing Rational Performance Tester 8.1

Click the HTTP link in the Passport Advantage row of the Download Package table and follow the instructions provided at the Passport Advantage website to download the product.
