Abstract

Cumulative fix package for IBM C++ Runtime Environment Component for AIX.

Download Description

If you wish to run an application developed using the IBM XL C/C++ Enterprise Edition for AIX, V9 compiler (or earlier), but do not have the corresponding version of compiler or runtime already installed, then you need to install the Runtime Environment package.

The following APARs were fixed: *

IZ23812 - June 2006 IBM XL C++ Runtime, V9.0

* Some APARs may have been originally fixed in another release of this product. In such cases fixes have been ported to this release and APAR descriptions have been copied from the original APARs.

Prerequisites

V8 Runtime:
- AIX 5.1 with bos.rte.libc .5.1.0.62 or higher

V9 Runtime:
- AIX 5.2 with bos.rte.libc.5.2.0.60 (Maintenace Level 5200-06) or higher
- AIX 5.3 with bos.rte.libc.5.3.0.3 (Maintenance Level 5300-01) or higher
- AIX 6.1 base level or higher

The AIX maintenance levels can be obtained from IBM Support Fix Central.

Technical Support

The C++ Runtime Environment for AIX is not supported as a stand-alone software product.

Support for questions and problems relating to installation of the C++ Runtime Environment is available as part of AIX Software Maintenance (SWMA).

If you suspect a problem with the C++ Runtime Environment while using it with a third-party application, contact your application provider for support.

Full support (installation, defect support and general questions) for the C++ Runtime Environment is available with the software maintenance agreement for the XL C++ Compilers. A suitable test case is required for defect support; click here for details.
