SupportPac CR01: CICS Transaction Gateway IPCS clean-up utility

Download

Abstract

SupportPac CR01 can be used to remove any Inter-process Communication System (IPCS) resources left in use after the termination of a client daemon process or application.

Download Description

This SupportPac provides an IPCS clean-up utility for CICS Transaction Gateway (CICS TG) that can be used after a client daemon process, such as cclclnt, terminates to ensure that the IPCS resources are removed. Termination of the client daemon process can be either controlled or the result of an abnormal program end. The removal of IPCS resources can be done manually by an operator or by an automated script that monitors the client daemon process resident in memory.

The utility can also be used while the client daemon is executing to ensure that any IPCS resources allocated by client daemon applications are removed from memory. This removal can, again, be done either manually by an operator or by an automated script, for example from a periodic cron job.

Possible Uses
Removal of any resident IPCS resources, left in system memory.

Skill Level Required
Advanced. The user should have knowledge of IPCS queues and the implications of any changes to a system caused by their use.

      For example, uncompress CTGCLEAN-AIX-2.0.0.0.tar.Z
    b. Enter tar against the file <filename>.tar
      For example, tar xf CTGCLEAN-LonP-2.0.0.0.tar

    For Linux (all versions):
    a. Enter bunzip2 against the file <filename>tar.bz2
      For example, bunzip2 CTGCLEAN-LonP-2.0.0.0.tar.bz2
