How do customers get CPU independent license codes for zToolkit?
Releases of IBM Tivoli CICS zSecure Toolkit prior to 1.7.1 relied upon CPU-dependent license codes which poses a problem for disaster recover testing.
The CPU-independent license codes are not available to zToolkit users at the 1.6 and 1.7 level (or earlier) because of the SVC's inability to accept generic CPU characters in the license string.
Using the CRTKSVC2 module provided in the loadlibrary enables the use of Disaster Recovery license codes. The file should be uploaded in binary to mvs into an FB(80) dataset. Use the RECEIVE INDA command to convert the dataset into an mvs loadlibrary The CRTKSVC2 module in this library should be used to replace the existing CRTKSVC2 module in LPA (or loaded into MLPA via specific parmlib statements). After activation of this replacement SVC (this usually requires an IPL with CLPA), Disaster recovery license codes should be accepted by zToolkit.
This replacement SVC should only be used in combination with zToolkit version 1.6 and 1.7.0. Usage by releases other than these two is not supported and may lead to unpredictable results.
