LOCAL FIX:
PROBLEM SUMMARY
USERS AFFECTED:
All users of WebSphere Application Server also running WebSphere Extended Deployment.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Mixed cell of WebSphere Network Deployment and Extended Deployment nodes with Performance Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI) polling causes high CPU consumption on the deployment manager node.
RECOMMENDATION:
None
When in a cell with WebSphere Network Deployment nodes, the Performance Monitoring Infrastructure polling for retrieving server and node statistics has a large impact on the deployment manager node in regards to CPU consumption.
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
This fix will be to introduce a cell wide custom property that can be used to disable statistics collection for non-Extended Deployment nodes. The fix was made available for Extended Deployment V6.1and it will be included in Service Pack 6.1.0.1 for Extended Deployment.
