Abstract
This document describes how to download IBM® InfoSphere™ Information Server, Version 8.0.1, for Solaris from the IBM Passport Advantage® Web site.
Download Description
IBM InfoSphere Information Server integrates, enriches, and delivers information that you can trust for key business initiatives. With rich functionality, broad connectivity to heterogeneous sources, and unified metadata, IBM InfoSphere Information Server is a strong foundation for enterprise information architecture.
Disk space requirements
The disk space that you require varies based on the number of product modules that you install. See the IBM Information Server Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide for more information about disk space requirements.
Downloading the product
- Go to the Find Downloads and Media Web page on the IBM Passport Advantage Web site.
- Under Download finder options select the Find by part number search option.
- Search for each downloadable image by part number.
- Download all the required images.
- Use a file extracting utility that supports large file extractions to extract each of the images into a single, temporary directory on your system.
- Download and open the Quick Start Guide. Follow the instructions to perform the basic installation of the product.
After receiving a proof of entitlement, you will be directed to a suitable location to obtain a license file to be applied during product installation. This license file controls which of the product modules you can install and run. Only the products that you purchased are available for you to install.
After your initial download, if you subsequently purchase an additional product module, you do not require to download the installation image again. You simply require to apply any relevant updates from the support site and apply the updated license file. See the IBM Information Server Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide for more information about how to apply an updated license.

IBM InfoSphere Information Server Client
This image contains the WebSphere DataStage and QualityStage Designer client and the WebSphere Information Analyzer Workbench client. This client-only image is available on Windows only.

You do not require to download this image if you downloaded the IBM InfoSphere Information Server Client image. You must apply an updated license file to use the additional client licenses. WebSphere Information Analyzer Workbench
This image contains the WebSphere Information Analyzer Workbench, which is a Windows-only client application. This image is available only if you purchase additional licenses of the WebSphere Information Analyzer Workbench. You do not require to download this image if you downloaded the IBM InfoSphere Information Server Client image. You must apply an updated license file to use the additional client licenses. WebSphere AuditStage
This image contains WebSphere AuditStage. WebSphere AuditStage is a client-based Windows application that complements WebSphere Information Analyzer by providing capability for building and executing data rules and monitor data quality trends on an ongoing basis.
WebSphere DataStage Pack for SAS
Download this image if you have purchased WebSphere DataStage Pack for SAS. Directions for obtaining and applying the required updated IBM InfoSphere Information Server license file are included.
