Abstract
This document describes how to download IBM InfoSphere™ Information Server, Version 8.0.1, for Linux from the IBM Passport Advantage Web site.
Download Description
IBM InfoSphere Information Server integrates, enriches, and delivers information that you can trust for key business initiatives. With rich functionality, broad connectivity to heterogeneous sources, and unified metadata, IBM InfoSphere Information Server is a strong foundation for enterprise information architecture.
Disk space requirements
The amount of disk space that is required depends on the number of product modules that you install. See the IBM Information Server Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide for more information about disk space requirements.
Downloading the product
- Go to the Find Downloads and Media Web page on the IBM Passport Advantage Web site.
- Under Download finder options select the Find by part number search option.
- Search for each downloadable image by part number.
- Download all of the required images.
- Use a file extracting utility that supports large file extractions to extract each of the parts into a single, temporary directory on your system.
- Follow the instructions in the Quick Start Guide to install the product.
After receiving a proof of entitlement, you will be directed to a suitable location to obtain a license file to be applied during product installation. This license file controls which of the product modules you can install and run. You can install only the products that you purchased.
If you later purchase additional product modules, you do not have to download the installation image again. You can apply any relevant updates from the support site and apply the updated license file. For information about how to apply an updated license, see the IBM Information Server Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide.

- This download also contains all content pertaining to Fix Pack 1. Installation of Fix Pack 1 is not required with this platform.

This image contains the WebSphere DataStage and QualityStage Designer client and the WebSphere Information Analyzer Workbench client. This client-only image is available on Microsoft® Windows only.
IBM Information Server Quick Start Guide
This guide describes the basic installation of IBM Information Server on two computers. The computers must not have any previous editions or versions of the product modules and components that are installed with IBM Information Server. For more information about performing advanced installations, see the IBM Information Server Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide.

This image contains the WebSphere DataStage and QualityStage Designer (Windows-only) client. This image is available only if you purchase additional licenses of the WebSphere DataStage and QualityStage Designer client. You do not have to download this image if you downloaded the IBM Information Server Client image. You must apply an updated license file to use the additional client licenses. For more information about how to apply the updated license file, see the IBM Information Server Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide.
WebSphere Information Analyzer Workbench
This image contains the WebSphere Information Analyzer Workbench, which is a Windows-only client application. This image is available only if you purchase additional licenses of the WebSphere Information Analyzer Workbench. You do not have to download this image if you downloaded the IBM Information Server Client image. You must apply an updated license file to use the additional client licenses. WebSphere AuditStage
This image contains WebSphere AuditStage, a client-based Windows application that complements WebSphere Information Analyzer by providing capability for building and executing data rules and monitoring of data quality trends on an ongoing basis.
WebSphere DataStage Pack for SAS
Download this image if you have purchased the WebSphere DataStage Pack for SAS. Directions for obtaining and applying the required updated IBM Information Server license file are included.
