Abstract
This document describes how to download and assemble IBM Rational Software Architect, Version 7.0 by using the Passport Advantage Online Web site.
Download Description
IBM Rational Software Architect is an integrated analysis, design, and development toolset that supports the comprehension, design, management, and evolution of enterprise solutions and services. It includes model-driven design, analysis, and development capabilities for software architects and developers creating service-oriented architecture (SOA), C/C++, J2SE, J2EE, and portal applications.

Downloadable parts
The eAssembly for Rational Software Architect, Version 7.0, for Windows and Linux contains the following software:
- Rational Rational Software Architect, Version 7.0, for Windows and Linux
You must download all 12 parts for Rational Software Architect and the Activation Kit. It is also recommended that you download the Quick Start Guide.
- Auxiliary disk (Installation Manager, Packaging Utility, and License Server (Linux only))
You should download these parts if you are deploying Rational Software Architect in an enterprise environment.
- IBM Rational Agent Controller V7.0.1 Multiplatform
- WebSphere Portal, Version 6.0, for Windows and Linux
- WebSphere Portal, Version 5.1.0.1, for Windows and Linux
- Rational ClearCase® LT, Version 7.0, for Windows and Linux
- Crystal Reports Server XI Release 2 for Windows and Linux
- IBM CICS® Transaction Gateway, Version 6.0.2, for Windows and Linux
- WebSphere Application Server, Version 6.1, for Windows and Linux
Space requirements
- You will need approximately 12.8 GB of disk space to store the parts for Rational Software Architect (not including the Auxiliary disk) and extract the compressed files.
- For the Auxiliary disk, you will need approximately 488 MB to store and extract the compressed filels for Windows or approximately 671 MB to store and extract the compressed files for Linux.
- To store all the additional parts and extract all the compressed files for both Window and Linux, you will need approximately 33.2 GB of disk space.
To store only the additional optional parts required for Windows and extract the compressed files, you will need approximately 20.4 GB of disk space.
To store only the additional optional parts required for Linux and extract the compressed files, you will need approximately 18.5 GB of disk space.
Extracting the compressed files
Extract all compressed files into the same directory.
