Caution: The NSD Updates available at this site should be applied only to installations that do not contain hotfixes which include NSD. To determine if your hotfix includes NSD you can take the following actions: on Windows platforms run "<hotfix> -contents" and look for the presence of nsd.exe; on Unix examine the contents of the manifest file in the temporary directory in which you un-tar'ed the hotfix and look for nsd.sh and memcheck. If you are running a hotfix that contains NSD, please coordinate with your technical support representative.

For Unix OS, you are not required to shut down the server to install the NSD Updates. The NSD Update installer can install NSD fixes while the server is running. You might need to install newer versions of NSD to ensure the necessary information is collected at the time of an outage. The NSD Update installer is designed such that is does not require a server shutdown, which can minimize the impact to users and make it easier for an NSD refresh to be implemented. However this is NOT true for Windows at present.

Prerequisites

Steps to install the Fix on W32:

1. Download the zip file applicable to your Domino server release and operating system.
2. Unzip the file to any directory.
3. Review the readme.txt file that was contained in the zip file.
4. Run the executable that was contained in the zip file. Domino server needs to be shutdown before running the executable.
5. If we cannot bring down the server to install the hotfix, please contact support for an extracted version of NSD.
Steps to install the Fix on AIX, Solaris, and Linux

1. Download the zip file applicable to your Domino server release and operating system.
2. Unzip the file to any directory.
3. Refer to the README file within the tar file for installation instructions. You do not need to shut down the Domino server to run the installer. This is only true for Unix operating systems
Steps to uninstall the Fix

1. Shut down the Domino server. An uninstall does require the server to be down, otherwise an error is returned.
2. Run the NSD Update installer to select the uninstall option.
