TASID V5.21 tool
Full screen system information display and much more.
The TASID system monitor allows you to view system activity on a z/OS system. This includes information about active address spaces (batch jobs, started tasks, TSO users, and system tasks), ENQ activity and contention, initiator status on JES2 systems, and so on. Note that there are some options that might not behave consistently or operate correctly on every level of z/OS. All available documentation is contained in the help panels, which you can access by pressing the HELP function key when on any panel within TASID.
This tool is available on an "AS IS" basis.
TASID V5.21 is an ISPF application and requires a minimum level of ISPF for z/OS 1.10 to run.
To display LPAR information, data must be provided by RMF III or an equivalent product. TASID is unable to display LPAR information as from z/OS 1.11 regardless of whether RMF or an equivalent is running.
In z/OS 2.2, some functions do not operate correctly. Selecting option 4, Initiator Status List, results in message:
TASID could not find the PIT control block.
TASID is packaged in two different versions:
- one version has the panels included with the load module (the first two files on the download list)
- one version has separate data sets for the panels and load modules (the last three files on the download list)
Once you have downloaded the files for the relevant version, follow the installation instructions in the README file to install that version of TASID and invoke the program.
