Question
After importing a large number of Event Frames onto Theme Lines in Analyst's Notebook, some of the Event Frames may be pinned to the Theme Line and others may have links connecting the Event Frame to the Theme Line. How can you set the behavior of the Event Frames so they are all pinned or linked to the Theme Line?
Answer
Here is an example of a chart with two pinned events and one linked event:
To set the behavior so all the events are the same, perform the following steps:
1. From the menu bar at the top of the application choose the "Select" option.
2. From the "Select" menu ribbon choose the "Semantic Type" option on the far right.
3. From the drop down menu choose the event types to change. In this example it's "Event" and "Meeting". Selecting these will select all the Meeting and Event Frames on the chart.
4. Right click one of the Event Frames.
5. From the drop down menu choose "Select Connections"
6. Right click one of the Event Frames.
7. From the drop down menu choose the "Combined Properties..." option.
8. From the options in the left pane choose "Style", "Link", and "Connection"
9. From the pane on the right, under "Segment Wiring Height" choose "Not Diverted" and press OK.
If the frames do not move off the Theme Line, with all the frames still selected, with the left mouse button click on one of the frames and drag the frame up or down off the theme line.
After making the changes the chart should look like this:
