Summary

The MultipartStream class in Apache Commons Fileupload before 1.3.2, as used in IBM WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition, specifically the Web Gateway component, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) through a long boundary string.

Description: The MultipartStream class in Apache Commons Fileupload before 1.3.2, as used in IBM WebSphere File Transfer Edition, in specific the Web Gateway component, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) through a long boundary string. By sending file upload requests, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the server to become unresponsive.

All affected product versions are already End of Support. Customers should contact IBM to obtain a fix for the affected release, citing APAR IT16098.
