Troubleshooting
Problem
A problem with the Work Order Tracking application and function duplicates records. The Work Order Tracking record with assigned asset X has assigned tasks. After duplication of this record and another Asset is assigned (for example Y), tasks in new record have asset X assigned.
Diagnosing The Problem
The following steps can be used to reproduce the problem.
1. Create a new record, work order 1283:
2. Choose an asset = CAL100 and complete other required fields.
3. Add two tasks for the work order on Plans tab.
4. Both tasks have the same asset = CAL100.
5. Save the record.
6. Duplicate the work order via More Actions (with its tasks).
7. In the duplicated Work Order, (1284), change the asset to CAL101 and save the record.
8. On the Plans tab, on the Tasks table, the same asset remains before duplication of the work order (ASSET= CAL100)
CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT
There is a difference between assets from the main record of the work order and its tasks.
Resolving The Problem
Maximo is working as designed and functioning properly. Asset values will be propagated to new tasks that are created. Once a task exists with or
without an asset value, which may be different from the parent asset, changing the asset on the work order will not affect the existing
value of the asset field on the task. Duplicating the work order has nothing to do with the functionality here.
