Troubleshooting
Problem
Data is not displayed correctly when clicking on chart values in the Result Set portlet.
Resolving The Problem
Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to the Start Center and add a Result Set portlet via "Edit Content/Layout".
2. Click 'Edit Portlet' on the newly-added portlet.
- Set Application = 'WOTRACK'.
- Set Query = 'Bedford Work Orders'.
- Set Object Structure = 'Work Order Details with Actuals and Plans'
- In the Field Configuration tab, select the following fields:
WONUM,DESCRIPTION,ASSETNUM,STATUS,WORKTYPE,WO_ASSET.STATUS.
WO_ASSET is a relationship between the WORKORDER object and the ASSET object.
- Save the record.
- Click on the 'Finished' button.
You can then see the Result Set data from this configuration in the Start Center.
3. In the Result Set portlet, click on 'Chart View'.
- Set Display By = 'WO_ASSET.STATUS' field.
- Click OK.
- Data seems not to be displayed correctly by WO_ASSET.STATUS.
Hover over one bar in the graph: it will display the number of records. Click on that bar (see example with a red tick in the screenshot). All Work Orders are displayed, whereas you should only see the expected number of records matching the quantity shown in the Graph.
It looks a bug. But it's actually the current design limitation when using the relationship file in the Chart's 'Display By' feature.
You can open a Request for Enhancement if you want this current functionality changed.
