IBM Support

In IBM Stewardship Center, the default user created by installation scripts is not able to update information

Troubleshooting

Problem

The IBM Stewardship Center installation script creates a default user called DSUser1 and adds it to the DataStewardGroup permissions group. However, when you are logged into the Process Portal with the DSUser1 credentials, the Stewardship Physical MDM dashboard does not have Add and Update buttons enabled, meaning that this user cannot update any information.

Cause

IBM Stewardship Center uses WebSphere Application Server commands to create users and groups. The DSUser1 default user that is created in this way is not recognized as part of the group DataStewardGroup.

Environment

IBM Stewardship Center V11.6.0.2

Resolving The Problem

To work around this issue, create new users with the Process Admin console, and then add them to DataStewardGroup. When they log into the Process Portal, these new users will have Add and Update buttons enabled on the Stewardship Physical MDM dashboard.
