IBM Personal Communications 12.0.1 sessions freeze after installing Windows 10 Creators update

Flash (Alert)

Abstract

IBM Personal Communications V12.0.1 emulator sessions freeze with the Windows 10 Creators Update (April 11, 2017)

Content

With the new Windows 10 Creators Update patch released by Microsoft on 11th April 2017, IBM Personal Communications (PCOMM) host sessions freeze. The emulator window becomes unresponsive, and user will have to forcefully terminate the session.

There is no workaround available, and end users cannot establish communication with the host systems. We are working with Microsoft to resolve this. Until further communication, users are advised not to apply Windows 10 Creators Update.
