Additional Resources & The Amcrew & Labor Data Source

Question & Answer

Question

Should I be able to use any data source?

Answer

The Graphical Assignment application has a field that allows for additional resources to be pulled into the record as needed. The Additional Resources field is meant to show additional information based on the data source used.

1. Here we have a Work Order that has planned to use a Craft type of Mach.

2. In the Graphical Assignment application we have this record:

We can see that the work query is calling the work order, so we shall see labor records for those that share the craft of Mach, this will apply if listed as default or secondary craft. I have also added an Additional Resources query asking for crews that share an AMCREWTYPE of Lake as well. When looking at the Assignment View tab, we will now see Labor that share the MACH craft as well as any crews that also share the Lake AMCREWTYPE.

The Additional Resource is a way of looking at extra labor that has not been planned via the work order. Please note, currently there are 4 options available as a data source, this is incorrect. There should only be 2 Data Sources listed as Maximo is only coded to work against 2 of the 4 choices. We can create Additional Resource entries for both AMCREWT and Craft, it will not work if AMCREW or Labor is used. This has been identified as a bug and the fix will be to remove the AMCREW and Labor as choices to be used when querying by data source for that field.
