Cause
The error 'Internal Error ... Failed to launch!' is generic - there are many possible causes for similar errors.
This Technote specifically relates to the scenario where the cause is a limitation of Controller, triggered when the 'Data Source' contains full-stops (.).
Example:
CCR12CNEW.test.com
Environment
Controller database hosted on Oracle.
Resolving The Problem
Modify the 'Data Source' so that it contains a single word SID value.
Example:
In one real-life example, the solution was to change it to be CCR12CNEW
NOTE: If if does not already exist, you would need to add an entry (inside TNSNAMES.ORA) for this new SID value (so that it resolves to the correct Oracle database server/database).
