Where does db2 allocate sequence cache? Does db2 allocate more memory if the cache size increases?
Answer
db2 allocates sequence cache in database heap. The allocated memory size is not affected by the cache size. The sequence cache is a data structure which records the cache size i.e. the number of values in the cache, the number of available values left, the start value, the stop value, the increment and the last generated value etc.
