Problem Summary:
Customers applying fixing level V6.3.6 of Tivoli Storage Manager server might experience APAR IT17642, which causes expiration processing to run very slowly.
Who is Affected:
All customers who apply fixing level V6.3.6 of Tivoli Storage Manager server, or cumulative efix levels 6.3.6.001, 6.3.6.002, 6.3.6.003, and 6.3.6.004.
Recommendation and Problem Resolution:
If you are affected by this APAR, apply one of these server fixing levels: 6.3.6.100, 7.1.7.100, or 8.1.1, which are generally available.
Circumvention
If you cannot apply the fixing levels, follow the instructions in the Local fix section of the APAR, bullet 2.
