TM1 Perspective Autocalculation issue when used with Cognos Controller Excel Link add-in

Problem

When users open TM1 Perspectives with the Cognos Controller add-in present, automatic calculations is on, causing the report to take more time to generate data. In previous versions the Automatic calculation was off. How can the settings be adjusted so that when user opens TM1 Perspectives, automatic calculation is off and manual calculation is on, pluse the Cognos Controller add-in is also active?

Resolving The Problem

1. With TM1 and Controller add-ins present, set Calculation Option to Manual



2. Save the workbook as "Book.xlsx" \Excel\XLSTART folder.

3. Set up the Local Preference in Cognos Controller with this value:
EXCELCALCMANUAL=true

Launch Perspectives first then look at Options > Formulas in Excel, calculation is Manual. If one now logs into Cognos Controller via the Excel add-in, Options still show calculation Manual.
If on the other hand you launch Excel via an already logged in Cognos Controller client, regardless of all above settings, it locks calculation mode to Automatic.
