How To Install Guardium GIM Client On Unix Server?

Answer
Prerequisites
1- IP Address and "root" access for DB Server
2- IP Address of the Guardium Appliance (GIM Server)
3- Directory structure on the DB server on which the GIM installation is to happen
4- IBM Knowledge Center Link For "Installing the GIM client on a UNIX server"
Steps
1- Check the version and release of your Unix Server:
2- From the downloaded GIM bundle, point out the GIM Client Installer file suitable for the UNIX server:
3- Transfer the gim client installer to your unix server. Select BINARY transfer mode in case transfer is initiated from Windows Operating System:
4- Make the gim client installer file an executable:
5- Check the Perl version - The GIM client requires Perl version 5.8.x or 5.10.x to be installed:
6- Start installation using silent mode:
Example Command Usage : ./guard-bundle-GIM-10.0.0_r79963_trunk_1-rhel-6-linux-x86_64.gim.sh -- --dir /usr/local/guardium --sqlguardip 10.222.48.81 --tapip 10.51.239.22 --perl /usr/bin -q

7- Verification of successful installation on DB server:
“ps -ef | grep gim” AND “ps -ef | grep –i super”
8- Verification of successful installation from Guardium appliance's GUI:
At this moment, the GIM client is successfully installed on the unix server and is pointing to the Guardium Appliance (GIM Server).
