How to run offline maintenance on local database on Mac machine Notes Client.

Problem

At times it is required to run offline database maintenance on the Mac machine where Notes Client is running to remove corruptions. This would help to resolve the issues if any issues are seen due to the database corruptions. The local database could be your local mail file/Personal Addrres Book etc.

How to run offline maintenance on these local database on Mac machine ?


Resolving the problem

Below steps can be used to run Offline maintenance on local database on Mac machine.

1. Open a Terminal Window
2. Switch to the Notes App Directory to the below path.

cd /Applications/"IBM Notes.app"/Contents/MacOS

3. Now in this directory set the environment variable DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH issue the below command

export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH="/Applications/IBM Notes.app/Contents/MacOS"

4. Switch to the directory Support you can issue the below command

cd Support

5. You can run the command ./NotesFixup and ./NotesCompact as shown below.

Note: If it ask for "Enter password" then you need to supply the Notes ID file password
