DB2 upgrade using IBM AIX powerHA (HACMP and RSCT) for HA (High Availability) Matrix

Question & Answer

Question

DB2 upgrade using IBM AIX powerHA (HACMP and RSCT) for HA (High Availability) Matrix

Answer

When upgrading from an existing IBM DB2/AIX HACMP env, reference the following links for planning purposes to ensure you are current in all three areas (see below) to ensure compatibility on the IBM AIX server.

For example, for DB2, it is recommended to be on the latest fixpack for the version of DB2 you are on to avoid Known Issues for DB2.

For IBM AIX, it is recommended to be on at least on the AIX minimum Levels in relationship to IBM HACMP versions. See PowerHA Matirix link below for additional information.

And for IBM RSCT, which is the cluster subsystem used by IBM AIX powerHA, review the link before to ensure you are on the current iFix bundle aimed at bringing the greatest stability to your powerHA env under IBM AIX.
