AutoUpdate executable files falsely flagged as containing virus during ICAA install

Problem

Multiple antivirus scanners report finding "Trojan - Trojan.Win32.GoogUpdate.aceg" during the install of ICAA _V1.0.1_WIN_EN.exe located in the autoupdate executable files shown below. IBM has confirmed these reports are a false positive and that the files are not infected.


Symptom

Multiple antivirus scanners report finding "Trojan - Trojan.Win32.GoogUpdate.aceg" during the install of ICAA _V1.0.1_WIN_EN.exe located in the autoupdate executable files.


This issue has also impacted McAfee anti virus, IBM submit to a request to McAfee to white list the ICAA _V1.0.1_WIN_EN.exe executable."


Resolving the problem

IBM is working with antivirus software vendors to whitelist the autoupdate executable files. IBM has also fixed this issue directly in the autoupdate executable files included in ICAA 1.0.1 Interim Fix 1.
