IBM Lotus Protector for Mail Security is vulnerable to cross-site scripting. This vulnerability allows users to embed arbitrary JavaScript code in the Web UI thus altering the intended functionality potentially leading to credentials disclosure within a trusted session.

Remediation/Fixes

For version 2.8.1.0 - Update internal web page templates by applying the update package listed below:
* inventory_tag-2.8.1.0-22115.i586.rpm

This is done via the IBM Lotus Protector for Mail Security update mechanism as outlined in the Updates section of the Online Help. This link can be found on the top of the right hand pane of the Updates page in the IBM Protector web interface.

NOTE: Default configuration of the Automatic Updates settings would have allowed for these updates to have been applied without user intervention on a running 2.8.1.0 system.

For version 2.8.0.0 - update to 2.8.1.0 Firmware and then update internal web page templates by applying the update package listed below:

* inventory_tag-2.8.1.0-22115.i586.rpm
