Question

I cannot find the Automatic Deployment package for interim fix level 7.1.4.x. Did the policy for delivery of Automatic Deployment packages change with 7.1.4.x interim fixes?

Answer

IBM Spectrum Protect is becoming more agile in delivering maintenance updates and new function (see http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21700499). This means that fix packs for the current release will be delivered more frequently (up to one per quarter), and the number of interim fixes will therefore decrease.

Interim fixes address only the most urgent APARs, which typically affect relatively few systems. Therefore, starting with IBM Spectrum Protect 7.1.4, automatic deployment packages for backup-archive client interim fixes will no longer be made available. Automatic deployment packages will continue to be made available for new releases and for fix packs on the current release.
