Troubleshooting
Problem
This technote describes the documents to collect to investigate ANR0102E errors seen for AF.Bitfiles insertions during a data movement operation.
Symptom
The following might be reported for a data movement operation, in the example a MOVE DATA operation:
ANR2017I Administrator <ADMIN> issued command: MOVE DATA <INPUTVOL>
ANR2232W This command will move all of the data stored on volume <INPUTVOL> to other volumes within the same storage pool; the data will be inaccessible to users until the operation completes.~
ANR1157I Removable volume <INPUTVOL> is required for move process.~
ANR0984I Process 130 for MOVE DATA started in the BACKGROUND at 17:26:42.~
ANR1140I Move data process started for volume <INPUTVOL> (process ID 130).~
ANR0513I Process 130 opened output volume <OUTPUTVOL>.~
ANR8337I LTO volume <INPUTVOL> mounted in drive <DRIVE> (\\.\Tape3).~
ANR0512I Process 130 opened input volume <INPUTVOL>.~
..
ANR0102E afcreate.c(2595): Error 1202 inserting row in table "AF.Bitfiles".~
ANR1181E aftxn.c(367): Data storage transaction <TRANSACTION> was aborted.~
..
ANR1141I Move data process ended for volume <INPUTVOL>.~
ANR0515I Process 130 closed volume <INPUTVOL>.~
ANR0515I Process 130 closed volume <OUTPUTVOL>.~
ANR0985I Process 130 for MOVE DATA running in the BACKGROUND completed with completion state FAILURE at <TIME>.~
ANR1893E Process 130 for MOVE DATA completed with a completion state of FAILURE.~
Cause
At the time of the writing, the root cause that introduces the symptom is not identified. The docs requested here will allow to compile a recovery action plan.
Diagnosing The Problem
Collect a server trace with the following traceflags for disk volumes:
DFMOVE BFAGGR
and for sequential volumes:
AFMOVE BFAGGR
You can use the server monitoring script from the related URL section and specify the traceflags when you get the
Enter traceflags
prompt, for the stop event prompt, you can specify ANR0102E
Resolving The Problem
In the trace, search for the object that is failing:
17:29:22.344 [179][bfaggrut.c][3798][BfListDeletedAggregate]:Entering for superBfId 120235213
17:29:22.344 [179][bfaggrut.c][3835][BfListDeletedAggregate]:Exiting with 1 items in the deletion list
