Problem
Looping between Cognos BI and TM1 Applications web pages during logon to TM1 Applications (pmpsvc). CAM authentication is used with the TM1 Server and TM1 Applications. Users may be able to enter credentials on the Cognos BI Gateway before the loop starts. This behaviour prevents users from accessing the TM1 Applicaitons (pmpsvc) web page and connecting with the TM1 Performance Modeler client.
Cause
This problem can occur when TM1 Applications (pmpsvc) is unable to conenct to the Cognos BI Dispatcher URI values listed in the ..\tm1_64\webapps\pmpsvc\WEB-INF\configuration\fpmsvc_config.xml file. To troubleshoot this problem copy the Cognos BI Dispatcher URL values from the fpmsvc_config.xml file into a web browser running on the same system as TM1 Applications to confirm you reach the dispatcher URI.
Possible root causes include the following:
1 - The Cognos BI Dispatcher uses SSL (https) and the TM1 Applications does not trust to CA cert being used.
2 - The Cognos BI Dispatcher is not fully started. When browsing the Dispatcher URI the following message is presented.
DPR-ERR-2109 The dispatcher cannot service the request at this time. The dispatcher is still initializing.
3 - Firewall blocking the Cognos BI Dispatcher port.
Resolving The Problem
If the Cognos BI Dispatcher is configured to use SSL then the CA certificates must be imported into the ..\tm1_64\bin64\jre\7.0\lib\security\cacerts keystore.
If the Cognos BI Dispatcher is stuck initializing, review the cogserver.log file for that dispatcher. Check for any errors that might explain why the dispatcher is not starting.
Allow firewall access to the Cognos BI Server dispatcher ports (e.g 9300) from the systems running TM1 Applications.
