Problem

IBM Spectrum Protect Snapshot fix pack installation completes, but the snapshot backup is failing with keyword error: #ERROR FMM8310E RECONFIGURATION_MANDATORY_RUN_SETUP_OR_CONFIG_WIZARD

Symptom

IBM Spectrum protect snapshot failed with following error messages ,

#WARNING FMM8304W While verifying the configuration in section "global", following error is occurred.

#ERROR FMM8310E RECONFIGURATION_MANDATORY_RUN_SETUP_OR_CONFIG_WIZARD                 keyword "RECONFIGURATION_MANDATORY_RUN_SETUP_OR_CONFIG_WIZARD" is not allowed.

Cause

It is mandatory to run the configuration wizard ( setup*.sh ) after the fixpack installation to get a successful snapshot.

Resolving The Problem

After the FlashCopy Manager for VMWare fixpack has been installed, it is necessary to run the configuration wizard to complete the remaining steps required for the upgrade. To facilitate this necessity, the upgrade processing will modify the profile with the following entry in the GLOBAL section:


    RECONFIGURATION_MANDATORY_RUN_SETUP_OR_CONFIG_WIZARD

When the setup*.sh configuration wizard is run, the upgrade will be completed, and this entry will be removed from the profile.
