Removing Operations Center installation to retry a failed upgrade

Troubleshooting

Problem

Upgrade of Spectrum Protect Operations Center may fail (for unknown reason) and it needs to be reinstalled without losing the current configuration.

Diagnosing The Problem

Operations Center upgrade fails. Needs to remove and reinstall it.

Resolving The Problem

Run through the following steps in order to remove and re-install the Operations Center but preserving the environment already configured:

1. Back up the "serverConnection.properties" file under the "guiServer" directory.
On the computer where the Operations Center is installed, go to the following directory, where installation_dir represents the directory in which the Operations Center is installed:
  • AIX/LINUX: installation_dir/ui/Liberty/usr/servers/guiServer
  • WINDOWS: installation_dir\ui\Liberty\usr\servers\guiServer

2. Uninstall Operations Center by using the following instructions:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSGSG7_7.1.0/com.ibm.itsm.srv.install.doc/t_oc_inst_uninstalling.html?lang=en

3. Delete the directory "<install dir>/ui" where installation_dir represents the directory in which the Operations Center is installed

4. Install again

5. Replace the saved "serverConnection.properties" file (see point 1) with current one to "guiServer" directory
