Abstract

The use of selected InfoSphere Optim products with DB2 for LUW has been deprecated in releases moving forward. Customers should begin using IBM Data Server Manager Enterprise 1.1.1 or higher.

Content

The use of the following InfoSphere Optim products:

-InfoSphere Optim Performance Manager for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows,
-InfoSphere Optim Performance Manager Extended Edition for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows
-InfoSphere Optim Query Workload Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows
-InfoSphere Optim Configuration Manager for DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows.

is considered deprecated for use with DB2 for Linux UNIX and Windows. It is strongly recommended that customers using the above InfoSphere Optim products with the following DB2 products:

-DB2 Advanced Enterprise Server Edition
-DB2 Advanced Workgroup Server Edition
-DB2 Performance Management Offering

Plan to discontinue using those deprecated InfoSphere Optim products and begin using IBM Data Server Manager Enterprise 1.1.1 or higher to provide the same management, administration and performance monitoring and improvement capabilities.

Data Server Manager Enterprise is included in the following DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows products:

-DB2 Advanced Enterprise Server Edition
-DB2 Advanced Workgroup Server Edition
-DB2 Performance Management Offering.
