IBM WebSphere Portal is vulnerable to a denial of service. By sending malicious requests, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the consumption of all memory resources to cause a denial of service.

The recommended solution is to apply PI50952 as soon as practical.

Fix: Apply an Interim Fix or a Cumulative Fix containing PI50952.

For 8.5.0

  • Upgrade to Cumulative Fix 08 (CF08) and then apply the Interim Fix PI50952.
  • Upgrade to Cumulative Fix 09 (CF09), targeted for 1Q 2016.

  • Upgrade to Fix Pack with Cumulative Fix 18 (CF18) and then apply the Interim Fix PI50952.
  • Upgrade to Fix Pack with Cumulative Fix 19 (CF19), targeted for end of November 2015.
