Summary
An OpenSSL denial of service vulnerability disclosed by the OpenSSL Project affects GSKit. IBM DataPower Gateways uses GSKit in certain moduels - namely MQ, ISAM/TAM, JMS. IBM DataPower Gateways has addressed the applicable CVE.

CVEID: CVE-2015-1788
DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an error when processing an ECParameters structure over a specially crafted binary polynomial field. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the application to enter into an infinite loop.

IBM DataPower Gateway appliances all versions through 6.0.0.16, 6.0.1.12, 7.0.0.9, 7.1.0.6, 7.2.0.0
Remediation/Fixes
Fix is available in versions 6.0.0.17, 6.0.1.13, 7.0.0.10, 7.1.0.7, 7.2.0.1. Refer to APAR IT10105 for URLs to download the fix.
This SSL vulnerability in other modules of IBM DataPower Gateways that do not use GSKit has already been addressed. Please refer to the following Security Bulletin for details: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21965415
You should verify applying this fix does not cause any compatibility issues.
For DataPower customers using versions 5.x and earlier versions, IBM recommends upgrading to a fixed, supported version/release/platform of the product.
