Problem

SQL0970N and "ZRC=0x840F0001=-2079391743=SQLO_ACCD "Access Denied"" error in db2diag.log, when attempting to connect to DB2 database on Linux

Symptom

When attempting to connect to a DB2 database on LINUX ONLY, a SQL0970N error will be returned at the connection prompt and the following error will appear in the db2diag.log



FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, buffer pool services, sqlbReadPage, probe:1130
MESSAGE : ZRC=0x840F0001=-2079391743=SQLO_ACCD "Access Denied"
DIA8701C Access denied for resource "", operating system return code was "".

Cause

Linxu anit-virus was running against DB2

Environment

This technote applies to LINUX ONLY

Diagnosing The Problem

Verify if any anti-virus software is running.

Resolving The Problem

The command /etc/init.d/nails stop will turn off McAfee LinuxShield, then restart DB2 instance.
