Problem
How to uninstall RMI dispatcher manually?
Symptom
Error "No upgrades are required", while upgrading or installing RMI dispatcher if earlier version of RMI dispatcher was not uninstalled properly.
In such cases we need to manually cleanup or uninstall the dispatcher.
Environment
ITIM 5.1, ISIM 6.0
Diagnosing The Problem
Error "No upgrades are required" during the installation of dispatcher if earlier version was not uninstalled successfully.
Resolving The Problem
Here are the steps to manually uninstall dispatcher.
Stop the dispatcher service instance if its running.
Remove following files from the /tmp directory (if exists):
ITDIAsService.sh
rmITDIAsService.sh
deldispatcher.sh
createdir.sh
copyfiles.sh
copyagentfile.sh
delfiles.sh
copylog4j.sh
Edit the ITDI_HOME/etc/global.properties file to remove the following properties:
ADAPTER_SOLDIR
com.ibm.di.dispatcher.registryPort
com.ibm.di.dispatcher.bindName
com.ibm.di.dispatcher.ssl
com.ibm.di.dispatcher.clientAuth
com.ibm.di.dispatcher.disableConnectorCache
Remove any of the following jar files from the ITDI_HOME/jars/3rdparty/IBM directory:
itdiAgents.jar
itdiAgents-common.jar
rmi-dispatcher-client.jar
rmi-dispatcher.jar
Remove the following jar files from the TDI_HOME/jars/3rdparty/others directory:
jakarta-regexp-1.4.
antlr-2.7.2.jar
Delete the timsol directory of file.
Run the installer again with the correct Dispatcher Installer.
Please follow the below steps to install the dispatcher:
Use the java.exe that comes with Tivoli Directory Integrator to launch the install. The java.exe located in the ITDI_HOME\jvm\jre\bin directory.
Issue the command:
ITDI_HOME/jvm/jre/bin/java –jar DispatcherInstall.jar
Click Next on the Welcome window.
Do the following at the License Agreement window:
Review the license agreement and select Accept.
Click Next.
Specify the location of the TDI_HOME directory at the prompt.
If this is the first Tivoli Directory Integrator-based adapter installation, you are prompted in the Adapter Solution Directory panel to specify the adapters solution directory to be used for the Tivoli Directory Integrator-based Tivoli Identity Manager adapters. If the adapters solution directory has been specified during a previous Tivoli Directory Integrator-based adapter installation, the prompt is not displayed.
Review the installation settings in the Install Summary window and do one often following:
Click Back and return to a previous window to change any of these settings.
Click Next when you are ready to begin the installation.
Click Finish when the software displays the Install Completed window
