Problem
Trying to run a report connecting to a TM1 datasource in Cognos Connection
Symptom
XQE-MD-0007 UNABLE TO ESTABLISH A METADATA CONNECTION TO DATA SOURCE
DIM-ERR-1007 Failed to query cube information for data source "TM1".
Please check the connection string and ensure the server availability
Cause
permissions
Diagnosing The Problem
Try with administrator account
Try connecting to the cube as the user from TM1 perspectives (outside Cognos Connection)
Resolving The Problem
Verify cube security assignments
With security mode 5, the logged in Cognos user will need rights to the Tm1 cube such that they can query the metadata of the cube.
