IBM Enterprise Content Management System Monitor (ECM SM) Server to be replaced with new ECM SM Server

Question & Answer

Question

IBM Enterprise Content Management System Monitor (ECM SM) Server to be replaced with new ECM SM Server. What steps should be taken so the monitors and configuration will remain the same?

Answer

To use the existing Monitors, save the <ECM SM server>/repos/config/PAM directory for the Cala client
configuration.

For the monitors on each client, nothing has to be saved since the clients shouldn't have to be touched as the monitors are stored on the client itself.

If the same host for the ECM SM Server, uninstall the Cala_Rex server agent (the one in the <ECM SM server>/agent/cala_rex directory). Then use the ECM SM server uninstall program to uninstall the ECM SM Server, GUI Server, and Cala Rex Server (primary). Lastly, drop the tables in the database before doing the fresh install since a fresh install expects that the Database objects don't exist yet.

Use TEMa on the old ECM SM environment to run 'Update CALA_REX' on each client to point it to the newly built server. Despite the name of the task, it not only takes care of redirecting Cala Rex client but also it takes care of the Cala Client.
