A cross-site scripting vulnerability in Maximo Asset Management could allow an attacker to execute script in a victim's Web browser, within the security context of the hosting Web site.

The vulnerability affects Maximo Asset Management, Maximo Asset Management Essentials, Maximo Industry Solutions (including Maximo for Energy Optimization, Maximo for Government, Maximo for Nuclear Power, Maximo for Transportation, Maximo for Life Sciences, Maximo for Oil and Gas, and Maximo for Utilities), SmartCloud Control Desk, Tivoli Asset Management for IT, Tivoli Service Request Manager, and Change and Configuration Management Database.

Vulnerability Details

CVEID: CVE-2015-4944
DESCRIPTION: IBM Maximo Asset Management is vulnerable to cross-site scripting, caused by improper validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using a specially-crafted URL to execute script in a victim's Web browser within the security context of the hosting Web site, once the URL is clicked. An attacker could use this vulnerability to steal the victim's cookie-based authentication credentials.

This vulnerability affects the following versions of the IBM Maximo Asset Management core product, and all other IBM Maximo Industry Solution and IBM Control Desk products, regardless of their own version, if they are currently installed on top of an affected IBM Maximo Asset Management. *
