Correction for EQQDDDEF installation job (affects E2E timezone settings)

Troubleshooting

Problem

Until a refresh of the IWSz 9.3 installation is available steps need to be taken to ensure that the DDDEFS used for installation are corrected. This can be done PRIOR to installing the product or after installation. The correction can even be made after the IWSz 9.3 code is in use (however this is not recommended).

Resolving The Problem

For IWSz (IBM Workload Scheduler for z/OS ) 9.3 the DDDEFS provided in the EQQDDDEF member (which is on the HWSZ930.F3 RELFILE) are incorrect until the refreshed version comes out in August 2015. If you see the following comment lines in the EQQDDDEF member in the HWSZ930.F3 REL FILE then the problem has ALREADY been fixed and the remainder of this technote may be ignored:

//* >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ATTENTION<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< *

//* >>DO NOT RUN THE EQQDDREP AND EQQDDRE1 SAMPLES IF YOU << *
//* >>CREATE YOUR CSI USING THIS JCL SUPPLIED WITH PI43571 << *
//* >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ATTENTION<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< *

If you do NOT see these comments in the EQQDDDEF member then you must use ONE of
the following suggested corrections:

(1) Copy this revised version of the EQQDDDEF member into the library that you are using for
product installation jobs instead of the REL FILE member:

eqqdddef.pi43571.txteqqdddef.pi43571.txt

The file needs to be downloaded to the mainframe in ASCII mode with LRECL=80 and RECFM=FB.
The file will fit into 1 track.

Then proceed with the remainder of the installation according to the PROGRAM DIRECTORY.
Ignore items (2) and (3) below.

(2) If you ALREADY ran the EQQDDDEF job that was NOT revised by PI43571 then you must
install PTF UI28831. As mentioned earlier this version of EQQDDDEF does NOT contain these
comment lines:

//* >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ATTENTION<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< *

//* >>DO NOT RUN THE EQQDDREP AND EQQDDRE1 SAMPLES IF YOU << *
//* >>CREATE YOUR CSI USING THIS JCL SUPPLIED WITH PI43571 << *
//* >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ATTENTION<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< *

Installing this PTF creates 3 files in the SEQQSAMP library:

EQQDDDEF - the corrected EQQDDDEF file (identical to the file attached above)
EQQDDREP - a job to CORRECT the DDDEFS that were previously executed
EQQDDRE1 - a job to correct the OMVS parts that were created when the APPLY of
the JWSZ933 (E2E) FMID was run

So after installing UI28831 you run job EQQDDREP (after making the necessary edit changes as
mentioned in the comments at the beginning of the JCL) and then you run job EQQDDRE1 (after
making the edit changes as mentioned in the comments at the beginning of the JCL).
Once you do this, the DDDEFS and the OMVS parts for the E2E function will be correct.
If you have not already started running the 9.3 version CONTROLLER and E2E server
then you are done and can ignore item (3) below.

(3) If you have TWSz 9.3 running (CONTROLLER and E2E server tasks running and
a Symphony file created) then you may have noticed the symptom of FTA jobs running
at an incorrect time . This is because the OMVS parts affected by the DDDEF settings
have not been corrected. At this point you need to shut (STOP) the E2E server task
and follow the instructions in (2) above. Once you are done (the EQQDDREP and
EQQDDRE1 jobs have run successfully) you need to restart the E2E server task
and create a new Symphony file by running a SYMPHONY RENEW or CP REPLAN or
CP EXTEND. Once this is done you should have no further problem with FTA jobs
running at the wrong time.

If you have any questions or concerns with these instructions please open a PMR with IWS z/OS level 2
support (COMPID 5697WSZ01).
