Question

Why is the Cancel Task button in the Recent Tasks window disabled in the FlashCopy Manager for VMware GUI?

Cause

Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Environments is not installed.

Answer

To stop a backup, restore, instant restore, or instant access operation, click Cancel Task in the toolbar (or right-click Cancel Task). This action stops the operation without leaving VMs or data movers in an unstable state. However, the Cancel Task button is only valid for Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Environments. For FlashCopy Manager for VMware without Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Environments integrated, a running task cannot be canceled in the middle. This is working as designed.
