UNTIL ONUNTIL Job and Job Stream Dependency Behaviour

Question & Answer

Question

Testing some scenarios has resulted in a query about how the dependency and status is reported in TWS. Can you please clarify the scenario below.

Answer

Scenario 1 :

Jobstream S1
Job J1
Job J2
FOLLOWS Job J1
UNTIL 01:00
OPENS FileF1

The Expected Result :

After J1 changed to SUCC status, if there was no file F1 and the time(01:00) was passed without releasing file dependency at J2, J2's status changed to HOLD status and S1's status changed to SUCC status.

Scenario 2 :

Jobstream S2
Job J3
Job J4
FOLLOWS Job J3
UNTIL 01:00
OPENS FileF1
Job J5
FOLLOWS Job J4

The Expected Result :

After J3 changed to SUCC status, if there was no file F1 and the time(01:00) was passed without releasing the file dependency at J4, J5 is kept on HOLD status because J4's dependency was not
released. As a result S2 is kept in READY status.
