Problem
Installation of FlashCopy Manager for Oracle on AIX may fail with exit code 2 during InstallOracleInstance phase.
Symptom
On an AIX system when installing FlashCopy Manager for Oracle the following errors maybe returned at the end of the installation:
109 Successes
0 Warnings
1 NonFatalErrors
0 FatalErrors
[...]
InstallOracleInstance (internal message):
setup_ora.sh - install called
InstallOracleInstance (internal message):
Status: ERROR
InstallOracleInstance (internal message):
Exit code: 2
Cause
One of the possible causes for this issue could be identified in the wrong version of tar in use on the AIX system.

Diagnosing The Problem
Check the version of tar utility on the system issuing:
tar --version
This here should be returned:

Resolving The Problem
Fix the AIX system in order that the correct (default) version of tar is used then retry the installation.
